tobacco dream

so just then i was casually checking my email when i realised i had received an email that was entirely korean except for one word - vermic

continuing this post like several weeks later ...

sadly, i can no longer find the email. i have no idea where it went :( that's pretty sad. i guess it's what i get for being too lazy to finish my posts.

OMG WAIT WAIT I FOUND IT!!!! hehehehehe.

so instead of searching vermicelli in my hotmail and getting an english email, i searched the korean name of the sender and got the korean version!! make sense? no, not really.

so naturally i go to google translate. and, as expected, i get a weird garble of english which i don't understand.

btw it was an email from my brother's school
and i was going to close it and probably just disregard the email until something at the bottom caught my eye ...

TOBACCO DREAM. i was like whut how what is this wait what this is an email from my brother's school why are they talking about tobacco dreams what.

and what was even funnier was that it looks like it was signed off like that. like you know how in the last line you put your name or something. and it's funny thinking someone's signing off as tobacco dream hehe :)

i'm sure i'm being very ignorant here - i apologise if you can read the email and it makes perfect sense but i have made fun of it ... sorry! i just thought i should share google translate with you guys :D

reunion!

so on saturday 10/12/2011 we had a NSW EEC reunion (an environmental conference held at NSB sometime last holidays i think). we were meant to meet up outside George St cinemas at 11:45, go and eat lunch then watch In Time at 1pm.

so i caught the last train that got to Town Hall before 11:45 .. thinking that I would be one of the last to get there. but when i got there ... i couldn't recognise anyone. walking in and out of the cinemas, not a single face which i knew. then, i realised something really stupid which everyone else realised later on in the day. i did not have the number of a single person who was coming. smart jennifer, smart.

but wait! then this guy walks in my direction. he does not see me. BUT I RECOGNISE HIM! i remembered him as a guy called William Vu from Fort St High. so he walks straight past me (i'm standing near this pole). but when he walks back we do that awkward thing where we make eye contact (for a bit longer than normal) then he keeps walking. i wasnt sure whether it was him so i was like :| like it would be awkward if i walked up to him and said hi and he was like 'what i don't know you'. but then because he eyed me for a bit i suspected he was wondering the same as me, so he probably is that guy. in the meantime, i'm mass calling Nadhirah to get Elysha's number (the only other girl!)

lucky i print screened this earlier, cause i cant find the event on fb anymore! maybe they deleted it since it's already passed :(
so then i approach him and ask if he's here for the reunion and he says that he is. then we have the whole laugh about the eye contact thing and he said that he thought he recognised me as well but wasn't sure. so we awkwardly stood outside the cinemas together waiting for other people.

after about 5-10 minutes the NSBs came - Daniel (i was in this guy's class when i was in year 3! then he went to OC ...), Herman, Leo and Simon. I am very sorry if I left anyone out. so yeah ... william pointed out that the NSBs were all standing together while William and I were kinda hanging around when he said 'so much for a reunion'. and FINALLY at around 12 Elysha came! she had lots of makeup and hairspray on cause she just had a dance rehearsal or something. i was the shortest in the whole group, it was not nice.

so we ate lunch at maccas ('poor cheap teenage food'). William and ... Daniel? had this super cool student edge card thing which gave them a free drink so i signed up for one a few days ago as well :D anyway. afterwards we went to the cinemas (like 10 minutes late, but the ads were still running when we arrived). at the entrance i wasnt allowed in cause i had my maccas meal with me (WHY did i not put it in my bag) and they said i had to either finish it quickly or throw it away. so i went to the bin and Amogh (we met up with him after lunch) offered to hide my food in his bag but i said that i could fit it in mine. so i did. and chucked my drink away (how sad. but i can never finish my drinks) and walked back. the guy was smart and asked me in a not-nice way if i really threw it away or if i just put it in my bag. so i felt bad and went and actually threw it away. so i ended up throwing away my drink and my chips away (i only ate my burger at maccas). turns out that the boys were distracting the cinema guy so i could've taken it in. but still. urgh. not nice.

the first thing we talked about after the movie was about the puns in the movie: 'i don't have time to gamble' and stuff like that. Simon mentioned that first. it was also funny cause the moment we came up we saw Timezone and we started laughing about that.

and then the guys were like 'let's go to the Internet cafe and play COD' and elysha, william and i were like :\ elysha said she played before but not on a computer. william said ... i forgot what he said. i have never played it before. the NSBs said that they would teach us how to play and stuff so we were like okay ...

but Amogh wanted to go and play pool. so then he managed to persuade us three to go and play with him. it was $16 a table for an hour, so we each payed $4. Amogh and I were in a team playing (see i didn't say versing) Elysha and William. during our game of pool the people on the table beside us were saying weird things along the lines of 'don't poke me with your stick!' and 'where are your balls?' and other things that could be interpreted in weird ways.

anyway in the end we don't know who won cause our one hour was up before we finished the game and i think it was a tie. we went up to the Internet cafe and saw the boys mesmerised with their game-playing. elysha had to leave and cause it was awkward just with me as the only girl i left as well. william thought that since he wasnt game playing that he should leave as well.

it was a nice reunion :D sadly, i took no photos. except i think Elysha took a photo of Simon in woolies before the movie. i shall find that on facebook.

there.

outdated posts

Now … THE CONGREGATION OF OUTDATED POSTS! Most of these posts have got to do with weird stuff I’ve seen outside of which I took a photo of, planning to make a post about something which I saw. But then, naturally, I forgot about them and now they’re sitting in my phone …

My brother has a constantly runny nose. My mum often says how it’s lucky only my brother has it and that I don’t … but NOW I DO. OMG. MY NOSE IS SO ITCHY AND I SNEEZE LIKE 5 TIMES MORE THAN USUAL. It is sad.

I know that the photo’s kinda blurry but WHAT DO YOU SEE?!?! Well, my brother probably saw it differently to you. As we walked past this in coles, he asked my mum:
Jason: “isn’t that really unhygienic? I mean, so much bacteria and stuff can get it in!!”
Mum: “… not really. Cause they suck out all the air and stuff.”
Jason: “what … ?! OMG RIGHT! I thought it was just a slab of meat on a piece of paper sitting there haha!:
Me: “OMG LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!”

Yeah well I took a photo of my bottle cause it looked cool. Like this dice photo I had ages ago. Cause the front’s heavier and it looks like it’s floating! Yay.

so I was eating snakes from an unfinished lolly packet (cause we had to make my brother’s lolly bags) and I realised that all the snakes had little smiley faces on them. Made my day!

and this is a photo of the birthday card that my brother gave my mum. I remember overhearing Jason ask mum what ‘style’ she wanted him to draw the card, and mum said that she didn’t mind. So my brother drew it this way (he’s so ARTISTIC im sure I left my share of creative talent in my mum’s womb when I was born so my brother absorbed it). My mum laughed when she saw it and asked why the nostrils were so big and my brother poofed his chest out and said ‘it’s a type of style, mum!’

this is a popcorn packet that I ate from. It said coolpak and I thought of gaypak and then I thought of Katherine. So I just took a photo before throwing it away. Time to look for an awesomepak.

we were looking at cutlery in myer at Hurstville, and we came across this spoon. I showed my brother and we started laughing … what’s the point of a spoon when it’s got a hole in the middle?

after seeing Katherine near myer on the same day my brother and I noticed a set of screws and locks on the wall. We noticed that you can see a cow and a dog in the wall ‘decoration’. Can you see them? :D

Last but not least, I was looking in target for a possible present for my kris kringle and was just looking at the cards. Then I saw this. Can any of you guys spot what’s wrong with this card? >:)

work experience day 5!

so i was meant to go and work with Linda and ... Suzie? this morning but apparently Linda comes in late on Fridays so Kay was very nice and offered that I could do some coversheets. So yeah, i started sifting through all the coversheets for ... the 1st of December and i sorted them out into two piles (one to go into alphabetical order and the other needed coversheets - but the top one needed a coversheet somewhere inside i think so it looked like it didnt need one). Finally Linda came and told me she needed me so I was like :\ okay! except I was half way through my coversheet job but i just left it there. Linda showed me how to add the information in a statement of claim onto the nsw dept. of attorney and justice database ... it was really cool :)

i was a bit worried about my coversheets cause i was wondering whether Kay was okay with me just leaving it there. when i left she was on the phone so i didnt say anything ... i wanted to at least tell her that i had sorted it into two stacks so it would be easier for her to continue. turns out (when i walked to my work station later) a man called Alex was sorting out the coversheets and my two stacks were gone :( i felt bad cause i think he thought i had randomly sorted it out into two stacks cause one stack was too tall and the files might topple over and smoosched it together :( but if he went through them he would notice that a whole heap together needed coversheets right? >.> ah well.

anyway, after seeing how to add the statement of claim onto the database, I went and had morning tea :) after coming back, Suzie explained to me what a garnishee was and gave me some paperwork to do. she had to put in the receipt details in the computer (she said that it would be too much for me (and it really was - looking over her shoulder the process looked quite complicated ...)) and i would separate the different copies (already printed) and make sure that one copy would be sent to the plaintiff, one kept as a file copy and another sent to each defendant. if there were any remaining copies the plaintiff got an extra copy. yeah it was cool :) cause i printed a little letter from which i would change the address every time for a new defendant :) apparently you dont even need the letter (as in it's not a rule to have the letter with it), but the sutherland court people said that they didnt want the defendants to be confused about the jargon used and stuff so they kindly attached a letter explaining stuff :)

afterwards i put all the defendant letters into their corresponding envelopes :D boring as it sounds, it was entertaining and relaxing hehe. i thought that i would have done like one hundred and something but when i counted (yes i counted ... for the sake of telling people on my blog ehe) i had only sealed 31 envelopes. OH and when i went and randomly got a stack of envelopes it turns out i took 29 (i was only 2 off!)

after finishing that, i went to lunch. after lunch I asked her if she wanted me to go and write down the names of the few books i had left and she said that Joe would really like that. when i came back downstairs, Kay was no where to be seen and her shoes were underneath her workstation. in a messy fashion.

IS THIS A SCENE OF A CRIME? DOES THIS REQUIRE ... FORENSIC HEROES?!

spoiler ahead. sorry, that was me being weird. I FINALLY FINISHED FORENSIC HEROES 3!! yay but my fav actress died in the drama :( sad aye.

anyway. i ended up waiting for 25 minutes to ask if she wanted me to type it up (i couldnt log in to the computers anyway). the first sign i knew she was going to come back was when i heard someone shout 'where are your shoes Kay?!?!' and she was like (walking in) 'i kicked them off!' or something like that. that bit is really vague in my memory so chances are i'm far off. well yeah, it was funny.

omg and Kay was like :O at around 3:00 cause she was like OMG I ENTIRELY FORGOT THAT YOU ASKED TO SEE THE CELLS THIS MORNING!! and she was like quickly dialling on her cool workstation phone and asking downstairs when i could come. i could come in 30 minutes.

i had not finished typing up the library books. one more page of handwritten names to type up. GO ME!

3:25 and i FINALLY WROTE THE LAST BOOK IN! i was like (literally) (hands up in air) 'YAY I FINISHED!' and Kay laughed. later when i proof read it it turns out i left out three lines so i quickly added it in. by this time the 'corrective services' guy had come in to fetch me. then he took me down a way i'd never been down before and showed me the cells :)

it was super cool. there were no loose objects e.g. fire extinguishers cause apparently they werent allowed .. otherwise it'd be easy for bad guys to take it up and whack an officer with it. the only things on the wall were emergency buttons ... and they were spread out every few metres and it's for an officer to press if in danger. the cells smelled. the officer explained that if they had a female they'd put her in a special one cause it's closest to the exit into court and that if she had to walk past a bunch of bad boys they begin to 'behave like little kids' (direct quote from the guy who was showing me around). it's also really cool cause the cells actually have passageways leading to like the police station and the court upstairs. like it leads to the little box where they hold the accused .. you know? it's so cool. i was like WOW. they also showed me the surveillance stuff and you can see EVERYTHING. all the passageways, etc. and they have a place to put guns cause you're not allowed guns inside in case bad guys take them and shoot good guys. they also have a thing that looks like an american locker and they have the content labelled on the front and it was something like 1x helmet, 1x sword and other stuff. really cool stuff.

yeah :) that was basically my day. except for the awkward moment. omg that awkward moment was ... awkward. i was so glad that i had gone through my week without awkward moments until the last word i said at work on friday was awkward. its hard to explain without context but i'll shove that in my friday awkward moments post. it's late and i stayed up typing this in case my memory fails me. bye bye bye bye! :D

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

so i was trying to actually understand what we're learning in English now - realism - so i decided to google realistic texts to find books that i might've read before so i could kind of get what realism was.

that didn't make sense did it? ok. well. when i find out that a book i read was realistic, i will think hmmmm i wonder why. maybe it's this? then i will see other books that i have read that are apparently realistic too, and try to find whatever characteristic i thought of initially. if it's not there, i try to spot other common traits between them. then i would assume realism = common traits. well, yeah. cause i'm horrible at english.

but one of the results that came up from my search was really weird.

yeah. weird. and when i read it, there was an awkward >>>>>>>>> flying on top of my head cause i was just thinking .............. what. and imagine someone was with me ... wow.

anyway, you should try it yourself :) or maybe click the title of this post, i should've linked it. but then again, it was a query so it's weird and the link might break.

shorry bro :(

:) yeah, the title was just a quote off one of my year ... 5? blog entries. yeah, here if you want to see immature me :D

last day of holidays? what better than to go and have a picnic (without a red and white checkered blanket and a basket and a spider) at carss park? anyway we went to carss park and ate. and then maggie and i badmintoned for a bit and then godwin, louisa, maggie and i big 2ed for a bit. i wasn't losing. I WAS COMING THIRD. joke intended. well anyway in the second round i lost drastically so that's where all my points came from. then i pulled everyone to come play badminton (cause it's absolutely fun -advertise-) and we spent the rest of the day playing it.

we kinda made it a comp but it was outdoors, the court was too big and there were like no rules. except that shuttles could not be lower than william's head cause that was how tall we presumed the net to be. we also just served anywhere, etc.

foooood!
my mum made the two boxes of noodles and the two boxes of chicken kebabs.
the chicken kebabs were heaven.
sho yeah. and i was gonna cut my hair on monday but i didnt have time.

so i cut my hair on tuesday! it was funny cause i asked louisa how she cut her fringe and i tried to do it her way. but not really cause her fringe is different to mine. i actually tried expressing this artistically but i failed. you may be able to see why:

if you want to see it bigger, click it.
and no, louisa's fringe doesnt look like that. my hand went weird (like always)
but i got my face right ohohohoho
yah. i was trying to say: louisa's fringe is like flicked to the side and looks cool (BOB), while katherine's is like ... how do i say it. a side fringe :) and mine is just a dodgy weird thing.

my fringe is weird, cause it's like a weird thing that's like short and stops at my eyes (until it grows longer) while katherine's is like a normal fringe.

oh and if i got any details wrong like the side of your part ... im so sorry.

and its funny cause i went to school on wednesday and amanda said 'hey, jennifer. your fringe is growing! it's getting long!' and i smiled to myself at the irony haha. i used to complain that my fringe is getting too long and people (including amanda) would say that it looked shorter! and haha the day i cut it she said it looked longer :P yeah, twas amusing.

AND I SWEAR I HAD SO MUCH TO SAY BUT THANKS TO ME BEING FORGETFUL I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY.

then ms brown came back from europe and gave us souvenirs! like a stamp and two stickers. except vanessa gave me hers cause she was just awesome :) why? cause i took one then had an instant omg connection moment with one of the others so she told me to have it on behalf of her :)

a beautiful stamp. sorry about the dimness, i used my desk lamp as a light source lol.

and and and i got an AWESOME BUBBLE STICKER!

i just got windows photo viewer thing to auto correct this photo. yeah im so lazy :'(
i'll replace the photos with brightified ones later maybe :)
ISN'T IT JUST ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE. well, i thought it was.

i stuck this really cool burglarly suspicious looking creature on my laptop.
... racoon?

THIS IS IT. THE ONE I MADE A CONNECTION WITH.
i dunno, it reminds me of an awkward crow.

... awkward ...
i ingeniously decided to stuck it on my right key after about 20 to 30 minutes of dilemma. i had the sticker stuck on my finger for that long in chinese debating with catherine where to stick it haha :L

and i shall go now. i'm sorry at how i thought i had so much to say but nothing's here. BUT YEAH I GOT COOL STICKERS AND A STAMP. made my day. speaking of which, i need to go do 8.06 :P
