study study study study study

ok, so just then i was like I'M GONNA GO AND STUDY MORE SCIENCE!!!!!!!! so i went to the bored of studies website (haha mr denyer joke) and tried some past school cert papers.

OMG THEY WERE HARD. ESPECIALLY this one which struck me as strange:

i mean ... seriously. if i knew exactly what to do, i would have:

a) got a friend's shirt on fire before

b) expected to get a friend's shirt on fire - hence i revise this

but WHAT I GOT IT WRONG! like ... okay. looking at the options i was like wait all of them sound feasible. then i was like ... wait but the sand won't really stop the fire, would it? i mean it'd just fall off. and plus, i'd never heard of a fire bucket before. so i cancel d. i know for sure c works. i mean, don't we all? b sounded good too. fire extinguishers extinguish fires right? and in movies don't they always squirt it on someone when they go on fire? but hm ... i'm guessing that it won't work in real life when it's a person cause then the stuff that comes out (which i think is meant to restrict oxygen from the fire?) will just fall off. maybe not that ... and i was like. hm. I HAVE NO IDEA. and the fire blankets i've seen ... (i think there's some in our school dangling and stuff - cause i somehow have this mental snapshot of one) they seem small. like not big enough to cover a whole body. so im like WHATEVER go with the one that everyone knows works.

this one? oh, i dont think any of you will get this. it's just that this is a typical IPT HSC question, and when it came up i had a big of a WHAT AM I DOING THE RIGHT PAPER thing. like we spent 2 entire topics on databases. but then (system) flow charts got kicked out of the course and we dont focus much on graphs or tables. EXCEPT FOR THE GANTT CHART OMG.

well anyway. so when i was reading this i was actually tossing between database and table. cause TECHNICALLY a database is a table. and i was like WHAT do they expect us to overthink this and stuff? and i knew it worked fine with database and would be really efficient cause you can just conduct an SQL query BUT i was like BUT MOST PEOPLE DOING THE EXAM DON'T KNOW ABOUT SQL!!! WHAT DO I EXPECT THE EXAMINERS TO EXPECT OF ME?!?!

yeah, annoying. but i chose database and got it right in the end :D

so i was wondering, to all those that dont do ipt, do you guys know what a database is? how much do you guys know? have you guys ever used/made one before?

it's just one of those things that i'm curious about cause i fear i take some things for granted. cause i doubt i knew anything about a database before ipt and stuff :) yeah, i'm a weirdo.

i had science p.7. halfway through the lesson a sudden wave of sleepiness swept over me - what I call a narcoleptic attack, despite me not really having narcolepsy.

it was ok at first, finding ways not to make my head bob and trying not to make it obvious that my eyes couldn't open. and WHY MONDAY?! when i sit at the front D:

i may have looked relatively calm in my seat. with my eyes open as slits (actual slits, smaller than they usually are). BUT YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT I WAS GOING THROUGH! despite my great, irresistable urge to sleep I  was, in fact, fighting a losing battle! I was actually fighting with all my heart and strength on the inside! I know i was on the brink of asleepness but ... I WAS TRYING TO STAY AWAKE. anyone knows how hard it is to stay awake when you're sleepy - not to mention my sleepy episodes.

i hear some noise nearby. a sudden thought: wait what is the teacher talking to me. i snap out of it. TOO LATE. next thing i hear: 'Do you have the weight values? Rhiannon can you wake that friend of yours up and give her the values?' and I was like ... -looks around omg NNOOOOOO this is so embarrassing-.

so yeah my dignity, reputation and ability to talk with teachers kinda went like this: ~~~~~~\ (ignore the extra bit sticking up)

and omg miss i'm so sorry :( i feel really bad for falling asleep in class but i really couldn't help it and if i had a choice i wouldn't've done so :(
