tobacco dream

so just then i was casually checking my email when i realised i had received an email that was entirely korean except for one word - vermic

continuing this post like several weeks later ...

sadly, i can no longer find the email. i have no idea where it went :( that's pretty sad. i guess it's what i get for being too lazy to finish my posts.

OMG WAIT WAIT I FOUND IT!!!! hehehehehe.

so instead of searching vermicelli in my hotmail and getting an english email, i searched the korean name of the sender and got the korean version!! make sense? no, not really.

so naturally i go to google translate. and, as expected, i get a weird garble of english which i don't understand.

btw it was an email from my brother's school
and i was going to close it and probably just disregard the email until something at the bottom caught my eye ...

TOBACCO DREAM. i was like whut how what is this wait what this is an email from my brother's school why are they talking about tobacco dreams what.

and what was even funnier was that it looks like it was signed off like that. like you know how in the last line you put your name or something. and it's funny thinking someone's signing off as tobacco dream hehe :)

i'm sure i'm being very ignorant here - i apologise if you can read the email and it makes perfect sense but i have made fun of it ... sorry! i just thought i should share google translate with you guys :D

train frustration

Monday means badminton. So we were all happy and excited for training … until, after trekking to the boys’ gym with 3 nets and a large bag of racquets, we realised that the boys had taken EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THE COURTS. Even the ones that we usually take. So after relocating many times, we were reduced to the CLEVELAND QUAD. I mean … badminton means indoors. No wind. Little feathery thing gets blown by wind.

So I guess you guys would probably know what I mean when I say that it didn’t really work. As proved when we tried to play table tennis in the wind the next day. Well because we were playing in the Cleveland Quad it was much closer to the storage thing where we put our stuff. A bus also came the moment we arrived at the bus stop.

When I got to Central, there was a Cronulla in 3 minutes. I ran for it. Arriving at the platform, A TINCAN WAS THERE AND IT WAS REALLY CROWDED. So I had to endure that horrifying moment when I have to decide whether to get on or not. But then I REMEMBERED THAT USUALLY THERE’S A TINCAN THAT COMES BEFORE MY REALLY NICE TRAIN. My usual train (the really nice one) doesn’t stop at Wolli Creek or Rockdale. So when I was looking at the timetable and the train after the Cronulla was an ‘express’, I assumed that that was my train.

So off the train goes. I’m like YAY my train is almost here and I can get home and see what my brother looks like in SBHS uniform! (I was SO excited, omg he’s gonna look so weird with a tie and everything HAHHAHAHHAHA) and then I turn my head to look at the timetable.

AND THEN MY FACE WENT WHITE. I DID THAT WHOLE EYE-WIDENING OMG WHY IS THIS HAPPENING TO ME FACE. Why?! Because the next train stopped at Redfern then HURSTVILLE. Kogarah is before Hurstville. The train DOES NOT STOP AT MY STOP. Argh. Omg. WHY DID I MISS THAT TRAIN? IM SUCH AN IDIOT. WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY?! So then I use my phone to see if there’s a train from Hurstville to Kogarah after this one. Yes there is! And I only have to wait 3 minutes.

So yeah coolies I get onto that train. But to check, I used my phone to check what time the next train gets to Kogarah. 3 MINUTES EARLIER. AND I DON’T HAVE TO CHANGE TRAINS. So I did that whole gritting teeth inhaling making hissing sound that Amanda always does and the hand movement that’s like clutching something that’s falling down. If you know what I mean.

So I got off at Redfern. The next train. The next train is an all stops! Okay so I know this train gets there earlier … but let’s see the next one. Cause all stops are slower. SO I USE MY PHONE TO CHECK AND IT TURNS OUT THAT THE TRAIN AFTER THAT GETS TO KOGARAH 2 MINUTES EARLIER!

So I watch as the all stops passes me … and then get on the train after that. I recognise the train. IT’S THE TRAIN THAT I USUALLY CATCH, YET I GOT TO CENTRAL QUITE A BIT EARLIER THAN USUAL. I was so annoyed. But when I got home … I opened the door and MY BROTHER GREETED ME IN SBHS UNIFORM! OMG SO CUTE.

outdated posts

Now … THE CONGREGATION OF OUTDATED POSTS! Most of these posts have got to do with weird stuff I’ve seen outside of which I took a photo of, planning to make a post about something which I saw. But then, naturally, I forgot about them and now they’re sitting in my phone …

My brother has a constantly runny nose. My mum often says how it’s lucky only my brother has it and that I don’t … but NOW I DO. OMG. MY NOSE IS SO ITCHY AND I SNEEZE LIKE 5 TIMES MORE THAN USUAL. It is sad.

I know that the photo’s kinda blurry but WHAT DO YOU SEE?!?! Well, my brother probably saw it differently to you. As we walked past this in coles, he asked my mum:
Jason: “isn’t that really unhygienic? I mean, so much bacteria and stuff can get it in!!”
Mum: “… not really. Cause they suck out all the air and stuff.”
Jason: “what … ?! OMG RIGHT! I thought it was just a slab of meat on a piece of paper sitting there haha!:
Me: “OMG LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!”

Yeah well I took a photo of my bottle cause it looked cool. Like this dice photo I had ages ago. Cause the front’s heavier and it looks like it’s floating! Yay.

so I was eating snakes from an unfinished lolly packet (cause we had to make my brother’s lolly bags) and I realised that all the snakes had little smiley faces on them. Made my day!

and this is a photo of the birthday card that my brother gave my mum. I remember overhearing Jason ask mum what ‘style’ she wanted him to draw the card, and mum said that she didn’t mind. So my brother drew it this way (he’s so ARTISTIC im sure I left my share of creative talent in my mum’s womb when I was born so my brother absorbed it). My mum laughed when she saw it and asked why the nostrils were so big and my brother poofed his chest out and said ‘it’s a type of style, mum!’

this is a popcorn packet that I ate from. It said coolpak and I thought of gaypak and then I thought of Katherine. So I just took a photo before throwing it away. Time to look for an awesomepak.

we were looking at cutlery in myer at Hurstville, and we came across this spoon. I showed my brother and we started laughing … what’s the point of a spoon when it’s got a hole in the middle?

after seeing Katherine near myer on the same day my brother and I noticed a set of screws and locks on the wall. We noticed that you can see a cow and a dog in the wall ‘decoration’. Can you see them? :D

Last but not least, I was looking in target for a possible present for my kris kringle and was just looking at the cards. Then I saw this. Can any of you guys spot what’s wrong with this card? >:)

yugioh

well lalalala today i went to the city. and it turns out katherine was also there ... but we didn't see each other. sadly.

well, first thing my bro made us do was go into the good games store. when i entered ... wow i'd never seen anything like it before!

the people in the store were predominantly men in their 20s, and it was amusing watching them carry like 20cm thick albums of their yugioh cards and showing them to each other. i didn't know these people really existed! i know i sound entirely ignorant but it really opened my eyes to what a gaming club was like. i'd never seen any of them in real life!

displayed at the counter were ... omg ten million yugioh cards. and i thought my bro had too much. i could hear my bro hyperventilating ... i bet you his mind was going 'OH MY GOSH THIS IS MY HAVEN! SO MANY YUGIOH CARDS ~~~'

anyway. well the men there were duelling, and they had little tables where they sat and duelled. i really can't actually imagine people taking time out, travelling to the city to duel with some people they don't know'. well, i guess this is why i live under a rock (metaphorically ... i dont really live under a rock. i dont live in coober pedy either :D). i guess it's really a socialising experience as they can interact amongst people with similar interests ...

yeah, this was behind the counter.
you see the array of paper that looks like files? every single one of them is a yugioh card. OH. MY. GOSH. you should've seen even more on the left of the counter ... but i dont think i took a photo of it =/

cards in the glass cupboard display under the counter ...

more cards ...

yeah. there were a lot of cards.
oh yeah, and the people duelling there?

yeah, it was interesting :D

yellow mini cooper (THE SQUEAKEL) and an explosion

well . . . regarding the previous post about the yellow mini cooper . . . I SAW IT ON MY STREET AGAIN! with it's lid thing raised so i think it broke down cause i recognised the driver and he was on the phone. sad. oh and why squeakel? i just thought of alvin and the chipmunks and how i wanted to watch that but the cinemas was really full and the queue was long so i think my bro and i ended up watching avatar cause it got sold out. yeah. seems like the car'll be a common sighting from now on :)

and the explosion? well my dad, bro and I were eating lunch in the cafe at Brighton Beach when we saw black smoke in the distance. right above the airport. yes, kind of concerning. SO I TOOK A PHOTO :D

and when we finished one of the employees packed our dishes. she smiled at me and i thought HEY SHE LOOKS FAMILIAR . . . and it took me a while to identify her and realise that she was simona ermilova from primary school! my dad didn't believe my epiphany since she looked so much more mature than me :( but i seem to recall that she was younger than me. hm.

well :) yeah. i was going to make this a short post but it wasn't so short after all :P

mahjong ... the new 'teen thing'

ehehehehehheyeheyeheyehahaha :)

did i mention that kelly and katherine came over to my home? looking through my blog i couldnt believe i didnt talk enough about it!

we ate pizza :) and did random stuff. and i took them a tour around my home and showed them my baby born  and my domo and stuff like that :D we also ended up watching a bit of Arthur and reminisced in the end :)

well of course the highlight was MAHJONG EHEHEHEHE. anyone reading this and know how to play? comment and we'll arrange some sort of game somewhere :) yeah, well we've got my brother and three teenage girls sitting around a table getting all excited with mahjong hehe. i couldnt explain the game really well cause i wasnt good myself and i couldnt get into the complicated stuff cause it got too . . . complicated. kelly won in the end cause she won a 自摸 which means she finished off her 'legal set' by drawing and not 'eating' someone else's discarded block thingo. twas cool :D

so to a certain halim / yourmum / 8D who likes turtles, DO YOU KNOW HOW TO PLAY? cause it'd be awesome if you did >:) then we could 'totoes' play asian one day and eat rice and knit (wait what?!) and got shopping in discount stores and shake packets of chips to see which one is the least shattered and take freebies that they're handing out :D yeah. we'll be cool.

an awkward dinner atmosphere

just finished dinner.

it was silent. no one spoke and i didn't watch the korean drama i was looking forward to at dinner. why? well, maybe because my mum spazzed at every single member of my family before it.
  • apparently my brother's space project was hogging up all the space in the corridor and annoying everyone (to which he complained that everyone was STEPPING ON IT, to which my mum threw yet another spaz - a direct attack at my brother's self-centredness.
  • me? because apparently, when my mum calls me from THE KITCHEN to MY ROOM i am DELIBERATELY not replying. because, of course, i only reply when she's calling me to some sort of food (sarcastic tone intended, but not that i don't like food) and not when she needs me to help her do some sort of chore - in this case, take the washing back.

oh, and did i mention that i accidentally threw my school skirt into the washing machine? accidents happen. you see, i only have one ... and it usually takes more than a day for washing to dry. oh and what exacerbates the situation is that yesterday i unintentionally spilt the soup when mum was telling me not to move the table. i did hear her say it ... i just didn't know that when i stood up my hip would brush the table and spill the soup ... so therefore, with what happened. my mum is keen that i am not listening to her.

  • my mum's always snappy toward my dad. it's like there's some sort of competition between them two to catch each other off guard and yell at each other.

yeah, so i think you get my point when i said it was awkward. they're talking now, since it's taken me almost an hour to type this but i'm still sad i didn't get to watch an episode. after all, it's one of the only things i really look forward to doing at home.

sandmen

click blog post title for more photos! and excuse me if i say snow instead of sand. i've tried to correct them all but who knows where i said it.

we went to Brighton beach again today! And, as you can guess from the post title, we made sandmen. For the first time. Which makes up for the absence of snow in Australia (minus the Snowy Mountains and the tips of the Great Mountain Range ...).

i felt like everyone was looking at us (me being quite self conscious) especially since we were doing it near the side walk. apparently some teens even teased my brother about it when I went looking for sticks.

ok. here're some photos :) the smaller sandbaby is basically entirely made by me in a matter of 2 minutes (explains why it's 'melting' into the sand) and the sandman was constructed by me but my brother shaped it and decorated it :D

me with sandmen with our engraved names …
mr sandbaby
mr sandman
well i would upload a video or two but it's around 50MB (which i found out isn't that much in terms of videos :O) <--- hehe looks like a clown ... and I don't want to waste my peak quota. I'll upload it later :)

oh and in case you wanted to know, I ate a medium McChicken burger meal for lunch. My mum and my brother ate large while my dad ate small (yes, weird the people who usually eat the most got small and the people who usually eat the least got the large. queer.) i am pondering if there is meant to be a full stop after that bracket ...

well. we had a nice day :D
