i am very weird

so there's this recent memory that makes me laugh every single time i recall it.

omg i can feel its cuteness oozing out

i was at carss park with maggie and louisa near the end of the holidays. as everyone knows i'm kind of scared of dogs ... but after seeing louisa's dog quite a few times (and omg she is so cute!) i've progressed to carrying it! yay go me. but everytime louisa's dog sees another dog it will bark quite a bit and it would run straight to it if you don't pull on its leash - earlier that morning it was in GRAVE DANGER because lecky accidentally let go of the leash and apparently it ran straight towards this HUGE SCARY german shepherd and so we made sure it wouldnt run away. (cause marble is a teeny cute small dog)

so maggie, louisa and i were trying to video some parodies (like weeping angels remake!) but then this big dog started running towards us! i first spotted the dog eyeing us in the distance, and when it started approaching i was like OMG IT'S COMING TOWARDS US WHAT DO WE DO OMG. and louisa was like PICK UP MARBLE OMG PICK UP MARBLE!! i had marble so i scooped him up into my arms and started running towards the gazebo where our parents were at (which was quite far away).

then OMG to my horror the big dog starts chasing us. im like DDDDDDDDDD: and im running as fast as my short legs can take me. then the big dog reaches me and my fear kinda kicks in and im like OMG LOUISA, MAGGIE SAVE ME WHAT OMG SAVE ME!! then it puts its two front paws on my thighs like it's trying to climb me (it was a nice dog upon reflection but in the moment i was pretty freaked out) and then i kept screaming OMG LOUISA MAGGIE HELP ME WHAT I DONT LIKE DOGS OMG IM SCARED OF DOGS OMG I HAVE A FEAR OF DOGS GET IT OFF ME!!

and then louisa and maggie doubled up with laughter cause i was hugging marble and protecting it from the big dog while shouting that i didnt like dogs and that i was scared of them. yeah it probably doesnt sound that funny here but at the moment we literally got stomach aches from laughing for several minutes straight cause it was so funny! the big dog ran back to its owner later ... i'm sorry for being so mean :'(

so yeah. there's lots of homework and i feel like i'm not getting so many things that i used to get .... grrr! anyway. away from that.

the title of this post? i just logged onto facebook and saw this photo and though it was funny. maybe it isn't that funny but i thought it was ... >.> yes, i am weird.

:O wow! i'm so unobservant that i didn't realise Alison wore short shorts that day! haha i probably did know, but just don't remember :P

now i shall log onto QQ and see if my cousin is online. 88 my friends >:)

formal!

i know this is a bit late but ... the formal was REALLY FUN!

katrina's dad drove us there and we actually got there around 5 to 10 minutes late ... but it didn't matter =/ but we (maggie, kelly, katrina, vanessa, me) didn't get any photos with the place (all the cool SGHS YEAR 2011 stuff) in daylight (unlike alicia, rhiannon and alison).

it was really cool cause there were photobooths and my group just kept taking photos lol. the place was quite small ... Ms Jukic described it as 'intimate' but there was more than enough space and it just made everything more fun. there was a balcony-like thing and the view of Sydney Harbour was really beautiful!

most of the photos in this post are stolen from alicia's camera (from facebook), so kudos to her.

here're the two best photos which show what the place looked like ...

it was colder inside than out cause it was really hot that night ...
the wooden bit was the dance floor and the really bright light comes from the 'photobooth' ...
at the very end you turn right and there's a bag room :)
so the food and drinks were served by waiters and waitresses and it was really cool :D i think they were italian or something (cause Ms Brown is Italian and she was telling us how to pronounce L'Aqua?) so it was really awkward when we asked them what the food was and they'd tell us with a really heavy accent and we would be like 'pardon?!' and they'd look at us weirdly and repeat it but we wouldnt understand it and yeah ...

anyway. the first thing i had was a mocktail AND IT WAS SO SO SO NICE! it tasted like really nice soft drink and i really wanted another one but i couldnt find anymore :( didnt see any nice waiters walking around with them. so yeah, that's how i got my food for the rest of the night.

the photobooths (which werent really booths) were really just a camera and a bright light with a touchscreen and keyboard. the lady (in the second photo) was really nice and worked slower cause she'd make sure we filled in everything we needed before going to the next screen. but several times she forgot to tap the screen so we were all like posing and it wouldnt take the photo and some of us had to remind her to tap the screen. the guy in charge of the other photobooth worked much more quickly and liked to assume things. like he'd ASSUME we wanted the photo in colour, only one copy and that we didnt want the photo emailed to us. which is why i had to say WAIT! when he was about to click the next button on the 'enter email address' bit ...

anyway. i took photos of the photos (ehe that sounds funny) before i got the emails ... but i might post the not-so-clear and more grainy photos cause even though they arent such good quality, the original highlights more pimples and stuff. wait or maybe i'll just post both. yeah both :)

the original (we didnt know it was taking a photo in the second one ... hence the weird expressions)
very grainy one of third photo
whenever we couldnt think of a pose for a photo, i would suggest an asian one. yeah.

alicia's edited photo of our bunch :D
this was meant to be an 'everybody right foot over left foot' photo but it didnt really work lol.
other than that, this is my fav photo from the day :) everyone looks so happy!
our first group photo! really good compared to our last one in which we were all dancing to that YMCA song ...
close up of third pic :D maggie's flower thing kept blocking people in the photos and it was funny :D
and yes, i managed to kind of slip in between rhiannon and katrina one second before this photo was taken :D
i think i cant be bothered uploading anymore since they're similar =/ i took photos with selena and carolyn too :) OMG YEAH. AND THE PRIZES. i'm so sorry if i spell names wrong :( and if i missed something out :(

best couple: michelle and danny
best moves: darren (this guy from sbhs) who i heard was 'ripping up the dance floor'
highest heels: josie
shortest dress: jaffa (it was actually a tie between her and aidan in the votes ... and we had to vote by screaming and emily, who was announcing the prizes, would put the tiara over jaffa and see how loud the screams were and put the tiara over aidan and see how loud the screams were ...)
longest short dress: carolyn
'best goodies' (took me so long to figure this one out): malithi
best dressed: siena (she was wearing bright red, yellow and blue and bright red shoes!)

and other cool things included them putting on the chicken dance and everyone dancing to it ... the toilets which had like frosted doors but you could still see the shape of the person inside and it was awkward cause you could kinda see what they were doing ...

i am a horrible person

two things that made me particularly sad this week:

i was hogging a toilet cubicle.
so it was thursday morning and i'd just finishing badminton training. i usually (and prefer to) change in the changing rooms but there were hsc exams on that morning, and i don't think i'm actually allowed in there. once i actually changed in there and when i opened the door to come out a swarm of yr 12s were going into the hall and i had to wait a bit and then kind of go against the flow to get back out and people were glaring/staring at me ... let's say it was awkward.

so i was like oh no i have to change in the toilets! this is annoying, because there isn't a place for you to put your clothes in, only a hook to hang your bag on. so i went into a cubicle and changed. i remember i looked at my watch and i was like yay im early today i might be able to get to my locker before the bell rings!

but then i heard two or more girls complaining really loudly when they walked into the toilet. i just ignored it, because people always chatter, scream, etc. in the toilets. but then this girl, presumably year 12 and about to sit her exam, shouted:

"Oh my gosh, you can't be serious. There must be people changing in there! IF YOU ARE CHANGING INSIDE THE TOILETS, F***ING GET OUT. This is not a joke."
i tried remembering what she said to the best of my memory. I'm actually quite sure that's what she said but i don't guarantee against minor differences.

and i froze. i felt so bad i can't express it in words! i knew that she must have felt really rushed because her exam was soon and she needed to go to the toilet. i was actually really scared and felt really guilty. i would definitely have gone out if she didn't sound so scary, if i wasn't half naked in the toilet, if my shoes weren't sitting on the floor and my clothes shoved into my bag messily. plus, i needed to go to the toilet.

i actually spent the next few minutes frozen. i was so scared that if i made any plastic bag sounds (cause my shoes are in a plastic bag) that they would hear me and know that i didn't come out. ARGH i felt so bad.

i waited until the bell rung and about 5 minutes later. after safely assuming that they must have been in the exam hall already, i quickly finished changing, went to the toilet and walked out. i made sure that i put every single piece of clothing and shoes, etc. in my bag so it didn't look like i changed (even though i had to hold my badminton racket). to my relief, no year 12s were in the toilet hallway thing and almost every cubicle was empty (which i hope means that the yr 12 did manage to go to the toilet).

i didn't saying thank you.
we were on the train back home. the majority of my friends were sitting in the 6-seater while i was sitting with Selena in the 3 seater behind, and Vanessa and Maggie sat in the 3-seater behind us. When Maggie got off the train, Vanessa moved to the 6-seater where there were vacancies so she didn't have to be alone or hog a whole 3-seater. After she moved, I heard the man who was sitting on the 2-seater next to me mutter something. At first I assumed he was complaining about school students being loud on the train (we were quite loud) so i disregarded his comment. However, he continued to mutter and I was beginning to wonder what he was trying to say. My next assumption was that he was trying to begin a conversation with me, so I ignored him once again.

after hearing some shuffling from behind me, i realised (i forgot in which order) that the man was trying to tell Vanessa that she had dropped her pen in her previous seat. i felt ashamed of myself and a complete idiot - why hadn't you listened to him earlier? why did you assume he was a baddie all the time? urgh. i was puzzled and really annoyed at myself. trying to look like i had no idea he was trying to talk to us the whole time, i turned around and three girls from another school who had decided to sit behind us handed me the red pen. I was moving in slow-mo and trying to look like i wasn't aware of the situation.

my brain wasn't working properly. so i took the pen slowly and decided to give Vanessa her pen back. i turned around slowly and gave it to Vanessa. it was at this exact moment that i realised that admidst my confusion and idiocy and attempts to look surprised I HAD FORGOTTEN TO SAY THANK YOU.

the next happened in about 2 seconds:
the girl who had given me the pen began to swear to her friends about how i didn't even say thank you. but i was planning to say thank you a split second before she started, so i actually turned around and rushed a thank you (which i intended to sound like 'i really did mean that, sorry about just then. thank you for picking up the pen!' but now that i think of it i realised that it might have made me sound like i listened into their conversation and was trying to win back reputation. omg i feel like a female dog.) which actually interrupted her in her complaints. hopefully because i interrupted her she'd assume i wasn't listening in.

i didn't know if she said anything afterwards but then katherine said something to me and i was trying to act normal underneath my guilt and OMG I AM SUCH AN IDIOT I JUST MADE MY WHOLE TRAIN BUNCH SEEM RUDE AND IGNORANT and then she thought she made me sad :( i told her that she didn't but she didn't seem to really believe me haha, but this is why. and i couldn't really explain it right then and there, so ... yeah.

deeeep conversations

well, not really deep. more like immature, naive me :)

haha today went out with louisa and maggie to carss park for the third time this holis, and apparently we're going out together again on monday if it isnt raining lol =/

today we didnt do much at the park, especially cause my mum said not to expect to do anything cause it rained and the grass was wet. before maggie got here louisa and i walked around and talked about our plans for the future :D we talked about how both our carbon footprints were enormous, how louisa wanted a green home, how i'd like to sponsor a child through world vision and get my kids to do so too, etc. but when we went back apparently our parents went looking for us, meh. then we kicked a soccer ball around for a bit, but ended up playing big 2 (i came second woooo - i usually suck at it *cough* especially when louisa's family's around *cough*) and cheat. yeah, i totally lost cheat.

then we went to hurstville to eat dinner together at that meridian hotel place, and maggie and i just talked about how we'd like a boy to confess their love for us :) haha it was entertaining, we were imaging guys playing the guitar and singing (maggie said: 'only if he has a good voice!') and how it would be awkward if he wasnt implying it and caught you off guard, say when you're eating a hamburger or pizza. cause you're all like hands on and weird and awkwardified, and you cant get away with small gestures cause you have to eat your burger and stuff. haha, it was interesting. but then we became old and reminisced about our childhood crushes and talked about them - twas entertaining yet struck a very nostalgic string within each of us :(

yeah. and i was meant to start commercing or rapping like ... 50 minutes ago but i suck and procrastinated and thought that mug cakes needed an oven. and then i realised that that wasnt right (you know ... correlation between cakes and ovens?) and googled it to check ... and yeah.

hope the remainder of your holiday is enjoyable! >==>
p.s. that was a fish. i was just wondering if i could draw a fish.

there was a mini cooper outside my home

. . . it was really cool cause since Maggie keeps spotto-ing on yellow cars and i poke her when i see a mini cooper, we talked about seeing a yellow mini cooper.

a photo! :)
. . . sorry about the graininess and artificial-ness of the photo . . . it was dark and i really wanted a photo without flash so i took one of a blotch and then just dragged the brightness notch to its fullest. oh and i also kind of -cough- schmooshed the license plate -cough-.

very badly taken photo of a yellow mini cooper
the story:
i was packing my stuff on my desk, which faces the window which faces the road :)
FLASH OF YELLOW.
me: wait what that looked like a mini cooper .... -looks out window-
DDDDD: OMG IT IS! =D
-attempts to take photo but fails due to excess, unkempt shrubbery outside our flat-
mum: you can throw the rubbish out and then take a photo ...
me: :D yes yes yes

. . . and so i throw the rubbish and take these photos. it just occurred to me that my mum could be hiring people with yellow mini coopers to park outside and make me throw the rubbish. ANYWAY. yeah :)

my trip to brighton beach

yes,  I went to Brighton Beach yesterday.

so when I was walking, I saw a very curious sign which made me think about the human race evolving into machines. why? here is a photo of me being very confused. sorry about the bad quality and lighting, I'm not a photographer (nudges Alicia) ...

BTW, no vehicles other than bikes can enter this area.
ok. first things first. 5km/hr isn't actually that slow, considering the average person walks at 4km/hr. But anyway, how are we meant to know at what speed we're walking? Am I the only one without a built in odometer (or whatever it's called) in my brain?

Now that reminds me of the current drama I'm watching ('Happy Salad Days' and I have no idea why it's called that since it's about death and sacrifices and a rock - you'll have to watch it to get the rock bit - and yes, I did only watch it because I saw that Aaron was in it -coughs-) where Aaron is the only one who can see the 死神少女 (directly translates into: 'Miss Death God' or something) without seeing through the rock because apparently there is something in his brain (hence my 'thought jump' into this topic). And I'm sorry that I didn't watch this drama the moment it was out (i think September 2010) and that I can't tell you what is in his brain because I don't know myself :) I haven't finished you see ...

Ok back to the built in odometer. This also reminds me of ... oh dear. I forgot the book title. I can't believe this. Be right back. OH YES starswarm! Yes. Totally. I feel so guilty. A very awesome, beloved and idolised human lent me that book to read in the holidays. Happy memories ... WAIT WHY AM I GETTING SO OFF TRACK TODAY? Okay. Well in that book this boy has an implanted chip in his head which talks to him :) lots of brains today.

Wait! Epiphany! I think I know what happened. I just went and typed the caption in ... and it occurred to me that the sign may have been for bikes ...

Oh well :D I had a fun time laughing about it with my brother anyway. And I was sure I had a really cool line to add after the inbuilt odometer bit but I got so carried away I forgot :(

whitewater world

linked the photo album of our trip in the title :D

i'm sorry but this entry isn't going to be as detailed as the movieworld entry :(

my mum and I woke up at around 7:40 while my dad and my brother woke up at around 8:20. enough said. apparently Horizon's family got up at 6 o.O wow. after we woke up and prepared, ate breakfast, etc. we kids had some time together! so, of course, we  played uno :) ... and big 2!

Horizon and I against the hotel view
Big 2 :) before we left ...
travelling to whitewater world on a non-pink bus, we passed wet 'n' wild. you really should have seen the line. it was longer than the entrance path and stretched across and around the entire front of the theme park! we (*cough* Horizon *cough*) took some photos.

we didn't get a lot of photos at the theme parks this time we went to the Gold Coast, so there weren't much especially since you wouldn't go on a water slide with a camera.

after the boys ignorantly ran away leaving everyone else to find a table with seats to leave our towels and stuff, Horizon and I really couldn't be bothered to find them. Afterall, it was a THEME PARK. so we decided to go on the Octopus :D and maggie won .... (I was so sure that I wouldn't come last since heavier people have a higher maximum velocity ... -hmph-) and managed to continue sliding several metres after where I stopped. After reuniting with our brothers who admitted to going on the Wedgie after lining up fo 5 MINUTES (later maggie and I lined up 30 minutes + for it), we decided to go on some rides together: (some details may be dead due to my memory being ... very bad)

  • The Rip
    • this was quite cool :) our tub thingo was meant to go around the basin once and on its second trip descend us into darkness, but the boys tried to make us go around a second time. the current won.
  • The Green Room
    • this was a really fun ride. the majority of the ride was in a pitch black tunnel, so you never knew where you were going. I loved the sudden, unexpected drop, especially when I was going backwards the first time. The rest of the ride wasn't too scary, other than the second drop into the funnel which seems quite similar to the kamikaze in wet 'n' wild to me. It was really funny because most people didn't scream until the first significant drop - so as the group going several times before us descended into the darkness, they must have been going slower than the others because just milliseconds after my brother remarked 'they didn't scream ...' we heard a long and waning scream marking their encounter with the drop.
  • The Hydrocoaster
    • lining up for this, all four of us, dwelling on my brother's discovery of an artificial rainbow, made rainbows with our swimmers. we had the sun in the right spot and, flapping our damp swimmers, propelled minute water droplets into the air. They acted as prisms and we had a rainbow right next to us :) however, our brothers soon got bored and left the line ... leaving Horizon and I to have VERY interesting conversations. Content of such interesting conversations you may ask?
There was the word 'one' engraved onto the metal railing. We had just finished watching the Matrix. That led to our fascinating conversation about only the 'one' being able to read it ... eventually leading to our conclusion that I must be either the second or ... the 'two' -drumroll-

so there was a parking lot beyond the stairs we were lining up on and maybe a 20m drop or so. it was so funny because somehow the conversation went into issues about eyesight and I told Maggie how I'd pull at the edge of my eyes (you know how you do the stereotypical 'asian eyes' thing?) and adjust the pressure I apply to my eyes and I can see clearer. Maggie exploded. Not into smithereens, but into a roaring laugh. I WAS SERIOUS. Has anyone done that before? yes no? It really works!
    • The Wedgie
      • Horizon wasn't allowed to wear her waterproof watch on the ride, so she had to take it off and put it in a felt bag which would be flushed down after she went ... i.e. before I would go (after 'mischievously' throwing Horizon in front of me in the line despite her protests against my intelligence). I had to laugh when I reached the bottom and Horizon puzzly asked me: 'Where's my watch?' after a laughing fit and deciding against the possibilities of walking all the way back up and retrieving it, one of the monitors spotted something right at the exit and asked Horizon if it were hers. it was :D
but of course the most interesting bit: the conversations we had during our wait. i was horrified. it was THE WEDGIE. like HOMGA it was THE WEDGIE (repetition reinforces my point as my english teacher explained to me). so then, like many other people would say i said: i'm gonna die D: ... then guess what Horizon says? at least you die wet :D very helpful. Horizon, in an attempt to make me feel better, convinced me that I had a lion in my stomach which would fly out the moment I stepped into the wedgie ... and I immediately thought of astro boy. why? because I have a mcdonald's happy meal astro boy that flies out of its capsule and breaks the glass :) i will find some way to post a photo ...

okay so I think those were the only rides we went on in whitewater world. other than the cave of waves where we braved the waves on a floaty that our brothers managed to secure and the nickelodeon pipeline plunge where Horizon and I embraced our childhood self and played in the water and got drenched by a huge bucket of water. after arriving at the hotel, Horizon and I went swimming. where Horizon scraped her chin :) it was very amusing. we were trying to be 'mermaids' (excuse the kid side of us) - where you sink down near the ground of the pool and make a snake-like motion to travel. Maggie went too low ... put it that way. she asked me if it was bleeding, and I said no. because I saw no blood.

but there were scratches that were red when we went back up to the hotel ...

anyway Horizon claims that the pool contained psycho water. why? because it made her go hyperactive (yes, feel oh so sorry for me). we ate at a Chinese restaurant in Surfers Paradise near our hotel :) it was quite yummy, just like tomorrow's ;) i recall playing uno and charades off my ipod touch that night, but I'm not too sure :D maggie's mum and my dad were always already asleep when we started playing ...

    blogspot just got cooler

so today was the LAST DAY of my exams! so happy :) and when I asked my friends while they were studying for their french exam, I realised that they blogged here ... and I have now rediscovered this blog :D (technically I did a week ago ... but oh well. alteration of facts for dramatic purposes!) and so I am now following them. and a few other people who were following THEM/they were following.

oh dear I need to eat dinner now. and i was going to write a bit on how hungry I was. sigh.

ok this is tomorrow :D how paradoxical. so I just wanted to say hi to Linda, Horizon and Rochelle who pulled me back to this account ... hello -bow-. and now i should finish doing my work on the effects of farming on the nitrogen cycle, my trigonometry homework and other english stuff.

surprisingly, i have procrastinated the entire of today :'(
