movieworld

hello fellow followers :D

so this is going to be my entry for my trip to movieworld 20/12/2010 with horizon ....
i've linked the photos on picasa to the title of this post ...

well, firstly we caught virgin blue to Coolangatta airport. I told Horizon about the frontier CEO on undercover boss (anyone with me?) and Horizon now desperately wants to watch that episode >:) however, i am afraid that I made it sound better than it really was ... there's not much to say here because- put straight, I slept my way through the entire flight. Arriving at the Gold Coast, we were quite a bit behind schedule and I FOUND THE SIGNS IN THE AIRPORT VERY MISLEADING. sadly, the arrow next to 'buses' did not, in fact, point to the public buses rather to the specialised, much more expensive tourist shuttle buses. we later took the 702 Southport to the hotel :)

arriving at the watermark hotel in surfers paradise, our room wasn't ready yet (considering the fact that we got there 5 or 6 hour prior to the standard check in time) so we left our bags at the concierge desk to look after.

Catching the TX2 (theme park express :D) to movieworld, we got there almost an hour after it officially opens >:( I didn't like that since it only opens for 7 hours. so we played on rides. basically, we went on these (I'll try to put them in order) :D

  • road runner (a coaster-type ride in the kid section of the theme park > see superman escape)
  • bumper cars
  • we watched the hollywood stunt driver show (2nd time for me)
  • scooby-doo Spooky Coaster (this may be the scariest ride)
  • wild west falls (realised the descent is steeper than that of the superman escape)
  • superman escape
    • okay let's say I was so scared before I went on this. what comforted me was that in front of me sat a 50-or-so lady and I was telling her how scared I was and she said (can you believe this) 'Oh it's not that scary - well, it is a bit fast - but I've already gone on it twice'. So I was comforted a bit more ... and it was not as scary as the road runner. can you believe that? I think it's because it goes so fast you don't realise what you just did :)

and we never ended up going on the lethal weapon which Horizon oh-so-wanted to go on because no one dared to go with her =P

soon, the rides closed so we had to leave the theme park. catching the TX2 back to our hotel, our mums realised that we didn't have enough food to survive the three days ... so the girls got off one stop earlier and shopped around at coles.

we played a bit of UNO that night but not much, because my dad and Horizon's mum were really tired and needed to sleep. OH did i mention that we got conjoining rooms with a door in between so we could slip in and out of each other's rooms? well, we did. and it was awesome. Then I ate dinner - instant noodles - on the floor 'Japanese style' because there were only two chairs and one bed conveniently near the table, brushed my teeth and slept.

  1. awws, you make me wanna go back to Gold Coast and hang around...

isn't there a perpendicular part in the Superman Escape? Surely that's steeper than the Wild West Falls... yeah, about the speed for the Superman Escape, that's what I was trying to explain on the train the other time >.> unfortunately, i think i did a pretty crap job.

lols, with the Lethal Weapon ride, did Horizon nom anyone? That was one freaky ride >.> I got a headache afterwards >.>

Yeah, my fave ride was the scooby doo spooky coaster... I went on it twice. First time, I ducked at the axe, second time I smiled at the axe =P

  2. :L 'hanging around in the Gold Coast' just sounds funny ...

yeah there is a near perpendicular part in the Superman Escape and I think I took the beginnings of it in the photo ... but you can't really see it :( i dunno ... I remember before I went on the Wild West Falls that I noticed how steep it actually was (I saw the Superman Escape already cause you know how it's right at the entrance?) and started wondering why I dared to go on it last time I went ...

:D no, luckily Horizon didn't nom anyone. Relax, I'm still in one piece :) Wow I guess she's lucky she didn't go on it since you got a headache and chances are she would've too ... but I felt kinda sorry for her cause she ended up going on a few rides by herself :(

yes! I loved the scooby doo spooky coaster. It was scary but not too scary as for me to completely go bonkers. Maggie said she didn't find it too entertaining. my reaction: WHAT?!?! daredevil :P It was so funny cause she was sitting with my brother and I was just screaming behind them and they were laughing and maggie was 'screaming' in a very sarcastic way ...

you went on it twice? takes like 45 minutes to line up and we got there late =/ and yes, I ducked at the axe every time I went on it too ;)
